How did you start your first design in photoshop? Did you read tuts or went to classes? Did you try editing a psd already made and changing it and learned on your own?
I personally learned some photoshop with tutorials. Too bad tutorials are harder and harder to find now a days.

Free tutorials are the way to go. I start out with Geocities... no joke.  Lips sealed
